1. Biggest Influence(s)?
Fleetwood Mac, The Staple Singers (Mavis), Janis Joplin, Tom Petty

2. Favourite records/tracks old or new?
Anything by The Subdudes especially their first self titled record. More of their records that I think are great include: Live at Last, Miracle Mule, Behind the Levee and the rest of their catalogue.
I love John Legend's CD called "Get Lifted". I love India.Arie's newest CD called "Testimony: Vol. 1 Life & Relationship". John Hiatt, "Stolen Moments".

3. What would you be if not a musician?
I've tried to be other things and I just can't be anything except for a musician. I tried college. I was going to be a lawyer. Nah!... I tried running my own businesses. It was satisfying being my own boss but I wasn't passionate about the other aspects of the businesses. Music is the only thing that I've ever really wanted to do and the only thing that I have felt fire and passion for a life path. I tried my hand at professional outside sales. I just didn't have the interest to make it last a lifetime. I had to quit that lame day gig and focus on what really makes me happy. So one early Monday morning in 1998 I told those guys to "Take this Job & Shove It"! O.K., I didn't really say it like that but you get the drift. I've never looked back. I've never had any regrets! I'm so glad that I tried so many aspects of my professional life before I finally made the commitment to my music as a career. It kind of makes me a
"late bloomer" but I feel everything happens at just the right time.
This is the perfect time in my life and everything is right on track.

4. Career high point so far?
Having Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood cover my song
"Texas Blue Moon" on their album "Nancy & Lee, 3"

5. Perfect night off?
Hmmmm! At home or on the road? That is the question. The perfect night off at home in Austin would be a Monday. I'd like to go out to dinner with my family (husband/drummer, Perry Drake and our 2 year old son Clark.) Maybe stop by a park to let my little one play...maybe see a free outdoor concert. (Austin is delightfully sprinkled with many wonderful free concerts at various outdoor venues around town.) Maybe hang with a few friends and just generally chill out. Now, if I were on the road and I had a night off, it would undoubtedly be a Monday as well. The first thing that comes to mind would be to be on the coast. West or East just as long as I could have some fresh seafood and enjoy the ocean breeze. ahhhh! perfect...

6. Most recent CD in your CD player?
Nathan Hamilton's, "6 Black Birds". It's a brand new release from one of my favorite Austin singer/songwriters. The CD is really rocking! It's much edgier than his previous recordings. Really cool!

7. Favourite book/film?
I enjoyed reading The DaVinci Code. I just read it before the movie came out. I had been in Paris and picked the book up in the Charles de Gaulle airport. It was cool reading it on the plane from Paris to the states because so much of the book takes place in Paris. All of the imagery was fresh in my head

8. Whiskey - Jack or Jim?
JACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smooth Tennessee Whiskey!!!!
