1. Biggest Influence(s)?
Like everybody I have many, many influences but, if I have to narrow them down to my biggest influences, I would have to say Elvis and Hank Williams, but there's also bluesmen Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Robert Johnson, for steel there's Joaquin Murphey and Don Helms, for guitar Scotty Moore, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Django Reinhardt ... and then there's all the rockabillies, Sonny Fisher, Carl, Lew Williams ..... whoa boy!!!! ... sorry, I just can't narrow down!
2. Favourite records/tracks old or new?
I really can't narrow this one down ... if I try to answer this, I'll use up all your net space (trouble is, it all depends on your mood at the time as to what you like).
3. What would you be if not a musician?
I'd be ... dead (or as good as).
4. Career high point so far?
Winning the Best British Album Award in the British Country Music Awards; or, for songwriting, the Comets recording one of my songs "Cafe A La Rock"; and the honor of backing numerous great 50's American artists.
5. Perfect night off?
Going to a cool Rockin' joint with my wife, Racheal and Stew and Shell (my bass player and his wife) to watch a good band.
6. Most recent CD in your CD player?
A disc from "Classic Rockabilly" box set on Proper Records.
7. Favourite book/film?
Book - the Bible .... film "Rebel Without A Cause" or various of the old "film noir" movies, depending on my mood.
8. Whiskey - Jack or Jim?
I'll have a Jack, thanks ... if you're offering!
