1. Biggest Influence(s)?
George Jones, Robert Johnson,
Baudelaire,
and anyone who has spilt there guts out into word and music.
2. Favourite records/tracks old or new?
George Jones – any of ‘em, they’re all damn good!, Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli & The Hot Club, Exhile On Main Street, Back In Black, Steve Earle’s Guitar Town, Pet Sounds,
Hank Williams Live On The Radio.
3. What would you be if not a musician?
? I’m also a film maker. I worked with Don Letts on the award winning documentary ‘Punk Attitude’ and Dick Carruthers on ‘Heavy Metal Louder Than Life’. So I’d do that but I’m a creative guy so no worries here.
4. Career high point so far?
Working with Don Letts who is also a musician/film maker, and of course writing my last song, and every performance is a highpoint.
5. Perfect night off?
Outside listening to the wolves.
6. Most recent CD in your CD player?
Latest Dropkick Murphy’s – they are the shit. I mean I love great Irish music and what they do with it and the punk attitude. . .shit!
I want to do a doc on them. I’m a big fan.
7. Favourite book/film?
Right now I’m reading ‘Over The Edge Of The World’ by Laurence Bergreen. I read a lot of Baudelaire.
As far as film goes. . .let’s see. . .always the greats – ‘Citizen Kane’
and of course ‘Punk Attitude’.
8. Whiskey - Jack or Jim?
Well good question, when I was younger I hit Wild Turkey 101 pretty heavy. That was a good fightin’ whiskey, well now I’m a bit more sophisticated. I like a Scottish blend called Islay Mist. You can’t get it in the States but when I travel across the pond I get what I can carry!
