DATE: 16/11/05 BAND NAME: Railbenders BAND MEMBERS: Graham - Drums/vocals Tyson - Upright bass Jim - Guitar/vocals Glenn - Pedal steel CURRENT RELEASE: ‘Segundo’ WEBSITE: www.railbenders.com 1. Biggest Influence(s)? First and foremost, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson & Johnny Cash. After that, there are quite a few. Supersuckers, Jerry Reed, Buck Owens and Dale Watson come to mind. 2. Favourite records/tracks old or new? That’s tough! we’d have to say that Waylon’s ‘Honky Tonk Heroes’ has to be at the top. Beyond that, we all have our own faves. 3. What would you be if not a musician? Jim would be a real estate appraiser. Graham would be a seafood salesman. Tyson would have his very own bar. Glenn would be that guy on the corner that begs for money. 4. Career high point so far? The time we opened for Dwight Yoakam at a sold out Paramount Theater in Denver. The whole place was juiced from the get go and we received a standing-o after our performance. We also sold a shit ton of CDs and hung out with Dwight’s band ‘til the wee hours and heard all kinds of stories. What a fun time! 5. Perfect night off? Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football with some home made chili. 6. Most recent CD in your CD player? Chris Scruggs’ four track demo’s. Kick ass!! 7. Favourite book/film? We all love the westerns but it’s up for debate as to which is the best. We did get to ‘open’ for Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven at a film series at Red Rocks Amphitheater this past summer. 8. Whiskey - Jack or Jim? Jack.
