The Classic Guitar Boxes website was created as a place where you can buy the original and unique Guitar Art designed and made by me - Guy Lewis.
I am a guitarist, designer and craftsman living
in Dorset, England.
In 2004 I was commissioned by a musician/producer friend to make a box to hold all the small items such as picks, slides and pens that he needed on his mixing console. The brief was to follow as closely as possible the attributes of his prized 1958 Fender Stratocaster.
The design I came up with was the '58 Classic neck box.
Made of American maple with ebony fret-markers, medium jumbo nickel-silver frets and walnut skunk-stripe, the box absolutely evoked the spirit of the original guitar.
The range has expanded and now includes the '58 Classic and '63 Classic as stock items.
Also, newly added models include the LP and MT Acoustic models as well as very special and exciting limited edition boxes.
Based on Classic Guitars from Rock and Roll's finest years, Classic Guitar Boxes absolutely evoke the spirit of the originals they are based on.
As a useful decorative item of high quality, they don't have to be used solely in the studio. Many people have them on their office desks or in their studies at home as a reminder of their true love.
Keep an eye on the web-site for details of forthcoming Limited Edition boxes or let me have your email address and I'll keep you posted.
In addition to the boxes that are normally held in stock, it is possible to specify any combination of woods; for instance mahogany with ebony or rosewood.
Mother-of-Pearl, ebony and abalone dot, block and trapezoid inlay has proved popular as has cream/white/black ABS binding.
These boxes are made as special one-offs.
Let your imagination run wild and tell me what you'd like!
Each box is personally made by me and as such the attention to detail and quality of materials are strictly maintained.
If you have any questions, suggestions or requests I would be delighted to hear from you.
