The 1836 is the idea of Liron Brish, a Texan from his earliest memories. It is obvious to anyone who spends any amount of time in Texas that anything you can buy there is also available with a Texas flag on it. Oddly enough, this was true for everything except for guitar cases. While the idea to finally combine the two came about several years ago, 1836 Guitar Cases was officially started in the Summer of 2007 and named after the year Texas became a republic.

Since then, the 1836 has found a home in Texas, the eastern US, and across the pond in England. 1836 Guitar Cases has also partnered with Austin City Limits Festival and Big State Music Festival to give the cases to such Texas artists as Asleep at the Wheel, Willie Nelson, Robert Earl Keen, Kelly Willis, and Billie Joe Shaver among others. Bob Dylan also got one because, well, he's Bob Dylan. His current guitarist, Denny Freeman, a native Texan, also received one. Jack Ingram uses his 1836 for a guitar given to him by Jerry Jeff Walker.

The 1836 has found many fans wherever it's gone. It's not unusual to be stopped at the airport and asked for a photograph. Liron has greatly enjoyed bringing the 1836 to life, and he hopes it will bring an extra touch of Texas pride to whoever has one.

As you will have noticed when visiting this site I’m a big fan of Texas music.  I also play a few chords on my little ol’ gueetar.  So when I came across these beautifully understated guitar cases I new I’d have to help spread the word and include them right here on
‘SP Fanzine’.

When thinking of the State of Texas, few things stand out as much as the Texas flag and Texas music. Never have the two been as successfully combined as with the 1836 Guitar Case.

Proudly exhibiting the Texas flag, the 1836 is a high-quality, durable guitar case. The blue, red, and white striping on the case are each constructed from a separate piece of leather-like material - 12 cuts in all. The case is further constructed of color-matched thread, five chrome latches with lock, padded handle, and black plush lining.
